|How to use the Tire Tool|
TO DO FIRST
Be sure to practice on some junk tires first. Cut tires at room temperature.
2. HOLDING THE TIRE TOOL
Grip the tool comfortably (as illustrated) in the palm of your hand with your thumb pressed firmly against the back of the tool.
3. TO DEFACE A SERIAL NUMBER
Scrape blade lightly over serial number until the tire number is no longer readable.
4. TO LIFT A SERIAL NUMBER RIGHT OFF THE TIRE
Lifting serial numbers is easy after a little practice. Place tip of tool in line with serial number. Lean tool away from yourself. Begin cutting by putting downward pressure on the blade while pulling towards yourself. When cut is long enough, free the tool & serial number strip by pulling up & cutting off.
5. TO LIFT A DEEP INDENTED SERIAL NUMBER, OR A SERIAL NUMBER OFF A BRITTLE OR DRY ROTTED TIRE
Use same procedure as above except press down harder in order to get a deeper cut.
